Orientation, topology[edit]

Interesting q, @Mjroots: whether this should be the other way up. Railway 'down' is normally away from the major city, so right now, for the West of England Line we're showing down as up. I'm also not v.sure if the two lines, WoE and Wessex, should not swap positions ... as I vaguely understand it from looking at the map A is West of England, B is Wessex, and I can't rotate that map to make it look anything like the bottom of this RDT, which instead seems to be a mirror image. (But it's late & I'm tired, so who knows.) --Tagishsimon (talk) 06:07, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tagishsimon: - I could add a north marker. Wessex Main line is the one from London, so that is correct. I'll add in a few more wikilinks. Mjroots (talk) 06:12, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
On re-checking, you were correct. Diagram redwawn and wikilinks added. Mjroots (talk) 06:20, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Tagishsimon and Mjroots: Rotating the map so that "Down" and "Up" are the correct direction was relatively trivial, compared with the question I have: if one of you can tell me if it is possible to center "Salisbury Tunnel Junction" between the two relevant rows that would be great. @RandomCanadian: - Salisbury Tunnel Junction text looks fine. I've reverted your removal of the onward links west of Salisbury. It may well seem obvious, but there are bound to be some that are going to ask where the line goes. I've corrected the North arrow. No objection to it being moved to the top of the diagram, but I think it sits better at centre, where it originally was. Mjroots (talk) 06:43, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
