- The primary purpose of this template is providing a navigation to some of the higher-quality lists in the Category:Lists of New Zealand people. It may be added into any list of New Zealand people, and it should be added into all the lists it provides a link to. Use on individual biography pages should be avoided.
- If this template inclusion onto a page leads to collapse of a more important template there, use the collapsible options on both templates to fix the situation.
This template's initial visibility currently defaults to autocollapse, meaning that if there is another collapsible item on the page (a navbox, sidebar, or table with the collapsible attribute), it is hidden apart from its title bar; if not, it is fully visible.
To change this template's initial visibility, the |state= parameter may be used:
