Template:Infobox Canadian Parliament/images/doc

Usage[edit]

This template is not intended to be used alone, but only in conjunction with Infobox Canadian Parliament. Depending on the legislature specified as the value for the |jurisdiction=, |considered_by= or |enacted_by= parameter, it causes Infobox Canadian Parliament to display either the coat of arms or seal of the person or institution enacting the legislation or, if this is unavailable, a photograph of a building which is the seat of that person or institution.

Only images that have been released to Wikipedia under a free licence should be used here. Such images should preferably be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Do not use images under a (supposed) "fair use" licence here, as the use of such images in infoboxes probably does not constitute fair use.

Do help by adding the names of other legislative persons or bodies, and by obtaining free images of coats of arms, seals or photographs of buildings that are the seats of legislatures. If you need help inserting them into the template, leave a message on the template talk page.

The scheme is as follows:

Court Image
Parliament of Canada
Legislative Assembly of Alberta
Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
Legislative Assembly of Manitoba
Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick
Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly
Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories
Nova Scotia House of Assembly
Legislative Assembly of Nunavut
Legislative Assembly of Ontario
Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island
National Assembly of Quebec

L'Assemblée Nationale du Québec

Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan
Yukon Legislative Assembly

The image size defaults to 180 pixels (px). To change the size of the image, specify a different size for the image using the "imagesize" parameter (indicate only the number, and do not add "px" to the end). Provide a caption for the image using the |caption= parameter.

If a file is specified for the |image= parameter, this overrides the automatic selection in the above table.
