Llanrumney Hall[edit]

  • ... that a local myth has it that Sir Henry Morgan, whom Captain Morgan rum is named after, was born in Llanrumney Hall, but there is little evidence to substantiate this? Source: "It is said that Sir Henry was born in Llanrumney Hall in 1635, but there is little evidence to confirm this" cardiffians.co.uk and others.

  • Article new enough when nominated and long enough. Generally within policy, facts are sourced, written in neutral manner and no copyvio was detected. QPQ was in order. I don't like the main and alt1 hooks which both talk about debunked or unsubstantiated claims. Probably you did it to make it interesting, but believe me, they are not interesting to a wide audience, 99% of whom presumably don't know about Sir Henry Morgan or Llywelyn ap Gruffudd. I respectfully suggest using other facts, for example its conversion to pub (just to name an example, you're free to use other facts). HaEr48 (talk) 00:36, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
* Sure but it is a second-degree relation to the subject (it was named by a relatively unknown guy Sir Henry Morgan, who was in turn reputed to be born there), plus the myth is unsubstantiated, so my reaction is "so?". Please consider using another fact. HaEr48 (talk) 08:26, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
  • Thanks Seth Whales for ALT2, I added a shorter ALT3 based on it. I noticed your edit summary says you still prefer the original hook. So I'll leave it to promoter to decide whether to use the original hook or ALT3. Both are sourced. HaEr48 (talk) 00:56, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
