Liao Changyong[edit]

  • ... that baritone Liao Changyong won first prize in three different international singing competitions in 1997?

Created/expanded by 4meter4 (talk). Self-nominated at 16:15, 13 November 2015 (UTC).

  • I made some edits, but I hope this does not affect my review. Sources are reliable, although some are inaccessible, making thorough browsing in Google harder. Information adequate. Hooks well cited and decently interesting. Nothing special; just simple biography storytelling. I like original hook more. QPQ valid. George Ho (talk) 22:04, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Removed from main page by Fram due to issues with the original hook, which was promoted: the prizes were won in 1996 and 1997, according to his post at WT:DYK. I've struck the hook, though a new ALT along those lines can be proposed, and I think we should have a different reviewer recheck the nomination to make sure there aren't other issues that were overlooked. I do note that the original review mentioned neither neutrality nor close paraphrasing, so those checks should certainly be done. Since the hook ran for under four hours, the nomination is eligible for another try at the main page. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:57, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Thanks to all who caught my error. I guess I misread the source. I have updated the article with the reference for the 1996 year.
  • Alt2 ... that baritone Liao Changyong won first prize in three different international singing competitions in 1996 and 1997? 4meter4 (talk) 03:03, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
  • This article is new enough and long enough. The ALT2 hook is acceptable (as is ALT1) and has inline citations. The article is neutral and I detected no close paraphrasing. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:04, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
