KWEM-LP

  • Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Marsh Family
  • Comment: An unusual DYK from me. A big chunk of this was back-ported to KWAM, which lacked a lot of this history, and this is also partly rebuilt from a page that shouldn't exist at KWEM Radio—which was written by Dale Franklin in 2009, prior to the LPFM. Coming in a little tight since I have been uncertain about the page's eligibility, but as a properly written page and tribute to Dale Franklin (who passed in 2017), and the first page to cover the LPFM itself, I felt it was worth it.

  • Article is new enough, long enough, and, as far as I've determined, free of major issues. Hook is within length and verified. QPQ supplied. Personally I don't quite like the fact that most of the new content is actually more relevant in the other article where it's been duplicated, but it's new content nevertheless, and doesn't go against the DYK rules, so it's still good. The article title is a bit confusing for someone unfamiliar with radio station articles, as none of the cited sources refer to it as such, only mentioning that it's indeed a revival of KWEM. I've found out, though, that WikiProject Radio stations follows FCC callsigns, including suffixes. I don't know if this is an unusual case—maybe it could be explained somewhere in the article if so? --Paul_012 (talk)
  • @Paul 012: The article is correctly titled. It's not all that uncommon that an LP is lopped off when the media talks about a low-power radio station, or an erroneous "-FM" is used; look at the reference titles on WHIV-LP, for instance. This station is intended as a revival/tribute to the other, so it's impossible to talk about KWEM-LP without talking about the KWEM of the 1940s–50s. As an editor who has years of experience with NCBC, wrote an essay about its application to US stations, and has had 100 pages moved by RM to fix INCDAB issues, this is in the right place. • Thanks for the explanation. Good to go, as above. --Paul_012 (talk) 14:37, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
