  • Comment: He died on November 12th. Might be a good day for it.
  • Improved to Good Article status by Slugger O'Toole (talk). Self-nominated at 19:22, 20 October 2019 (UTC).
  • Article is long enough and was promoted to GA status in date. QPQ has been done. There is a high score on the copyvio detector, but this appears to be from mirror sites using the earlier version of the article, or triggered by the lengthy award citation quoted verbatim. The hook fact is cited, and is interesting, and confirmed in some of the online and accessible cites used. Image appears to be free use, though ideally some author information should be added if it can be found. As an aside, our article on the Medal of Honor states that the term 'Congressional Medal of Honor' is erroneous, and Barnes's article just uses 'Medal of Honor' throughout, so perhaps change to 'Medal of Honor' in the hook? On a personal note, if we are using a particular anniversary date, I think it makes sense to state that in the hook. Perhaps either Alt 2 or 3, but that is at the discretion of the promoting user, and if it is used as a special occasion hook. Spokoyni (talk) 20:39, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
