Homi F. Daji[edit]

5x expanded by Soman (talk). Self-nominated at 22:25, 3 October 2017 (UTC).

  • Article is a recent five-time expansion that's new enough and well-cited. I've done a bit of tidy-up. The hook fact checks out and is reasonably interesting; it's certainly the most interesting fact from the article. I've tweaked the hook for a double "a". I didn't come across any copyvios at those sources that I checked, and Earwig's Copyvio Detector said that "Violation Unlikely 9.1% confidence". QPQ is the outstanding issue. • Post-QPQ, this is all good to go. Schwede66 21:45, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
  • I suggest this alt (please correct the wording if it's wrong):
  • ALT1: ... that when the relatively unknown Homi F. Daji contested his first election for a Legislative Assembly seat from Indore, he gained more votes than the prominent opposition-party leader? Yoninah (talk) 22:52, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
  • Yoninah Did you have a look whether this is backed up in one of the sources? I'm asking because when I looked through the sources, I seem to remember that this particular aspect wasn't mentioned anywhere (at least not where I looked) but I didn't worry about it because the article is otherwise well referenced, and that obviously wasn't a hook fact at that point. Schwede66 05:15, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
  • @Schwede66: yes, I looked in the source, and I found only the vote totals, nothing about Oke being a "prominent leader" of the Hindu Mahasabha party. @Soman: if you like ALT1, could you provide a citation for the "prominent leader" fact? Yoninah (talk) 10:57, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
  • The prominent leader part in in the Jones ref. However, it appears that the 'prominent leader' thing was more in terms of local dynamics. --Soman (talk) 23:11, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
  • Well then, we can't use ALT1, and IMO the original hook doesn't really point to the subject and only gives an opinion, take it or leave it. Could you suggest another hook? Yoninah (talk) 23:42, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
  • Promoting the original hook which was approved six weeks ago. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:13, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
