Moved to mainspace by 173.162.220.17 (talk). Nominated by Bruxton (talk) at 04:08, 11 April 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Fédération Française de Catch Professionnel; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.

  • Moved to mainspace on April 5, well written and cited, no plagiarism whatsoever; both proposed hooks are nice and verified (leaning slightly toward the first variant). Picture visible and properly licensed; I took the liberty of adding it to the article which is a DYK requirement. QPQ done by nominator. Dahn (talk) 04:36, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
Thank you @Dahn: Bruxton (talk) 15:34, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
@Bruxton and Dahn: I don't find the "first" claim explicitly stated in the article or the source? These claims always attract scrutiny, so it should be clearly stated and cited or the hook is likely to be queried at ERRORS and pulled. Thanks. @Sojourner in the earth: Professional wrestling began in France around 1830. And the "first" claim is troublesome. I have added information to support a hool that I will propose:

And @Dahn: should have a look at ALT2 Bruxton (talk) 15:37, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
  • Sorry I had missed that issue, and indeed, ALT2 is better. Dahn (talk) 15:40, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
@Sojourner in the earth: best practice is to remove the "No" you have placed after it is corrected. Otherwise promotors may wonder if your concerns have been addressed. This particular nomination was made on behalf of an IP who could not nominate it, so I have assisted. Bruxton (talk) 00:19, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
Okay, I've removed the icon. I haven't checked ALT2 myself, but the sources are online and I assume Dahn has done due diligence. Sojourner in the earth (talk) 05:29, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

Just to clarify, the hook isn't implying pro wrestling didn't exist in France before the FFCP. The FFCP was the first "modern" pro wrestling promotion in France. These types of companies didn't come into existence until well into the 20th century. The world's oldest company, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, was founded in 1933. 173.162.220.17 (talk) 17:20, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
