I suggest the following alt hook:

I think we should describe and link Jan Mayen, I think that adding the word volcanic will draw viewers. As will, I think, the word exiled. The character count of 202 is well within limits for a multi-article hook (202-18=184). Manxruler (talk) 09:45, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the more informative alt hook. I adjusted the hooks slightly, by changing the direction to west-southwest of Eggøya, in accordance with cited reference. The hook length increases with nine characters, but still within the limits. Oceanh (talk) 08:02, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

All three are OK – length is OK (just about), newness and sourcing is also OK. AGF on the offline (presumably Norwegian-language?) sources. Prioryman (talk) 22:44, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
