Just an anecdote[edit]

When written without diacritics (Skupien), his surname ending looks much like something French (Citroen), and at international conferences he was sometimes announced in French accent: scoop-YEN, which was a matter of a chuckle among those who knew him. Today I was idly wondering and to my surprise I googled up a real Frenchy surname Scoupien ! Staszek Lem (talk) 18:44, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
