I don't think the release date on the side box is right.

Why not? It puts down Orthodox Judaism, doesn't it? I sure wish there were a few movies depicting authentic yeshiva life to give this one some context, but that obviously wasn't the point. Pedantrician (talk) 22:00, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There's a lot of cultural appropriation of transvestism. Very frowned upon today. 2.28.151.187 (talk) 16:51, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional cruft and poor sourcing[edit]

A persistent anonymous editor keeps adding the grandiose claim that Yentyl is "considered one of the greatest musical evers". The problem with this—apart from the very poor sourcing—is that it is WP:WEASEL language: WHO is doing the "considering"? There is a gulf between a critic drawing up a list of their top ten favorites and a legitimate survey, such as the Sight & Sound decennial poll. The latter establishes a critical consensus, while the former is just an opinion. Please bear in mind that Wikipedia is WP:NOTSOAPBOX. Also, some of the sources being used to back up this claim are very dubious. WhatCulture and NewNowNext look like WP:Self-published sources (i.e. virtually no editorial oversight); The AFI link on the other hand is simply a ballot list; as I have already explained at Talk:Hello,_Dolly!_(film)#Inappropriate_sources being on the ballot paper is not the same as making the final cut. If claims of this nature are going to be made the sources need to credibly reflect the critical consensus. Betty Logan (talk) 08:06, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Budget[edit]

The film's budget is stated as $ 12 million. In the article the budget is stated as being $ 14,5 million and that it ended up $ 1,5 m higher. The budget should be $ 16 million then, right? --DrJos (talk) 13:33, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
