Name?[edit]

What do you think? Should it be Year of the Three Emperors? or Year of Three Emperors? Both sources I have have it with the "the," so as of now I suggest changing it to that. The Kaisers/Emperors difference is just a small matter of language that doesn't effect it too much but the "the" might, I'm not sure. --Banime (talk) 23:20, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'll just provide redirects from each term to here, and if there's support for one over another later then let me know and we can work on moving the page. --Banime (talk) 16:21, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I've made a decision. Because every one of my sources has a "the" in the title, I'm going to move this article to "Year of the Three Emperors" and redirect all variations to it. If you disagree let me know. --Banime (talk) 18:10, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

?[edit]

  • "Early in the year, Emperor Wilhelm I died on March 9, 1888 after a long reign."
    • How long?
  • "Wilhelm II was different than his father and abandoned any liberal plans that he had."
    • Like....? What liberal plans?

    • "Frederick still accomplished some of his duties as emperor despite his protracted illness, however, he did not have any lasting effect upon Germany."
      • What duties?

Thanks for all of these questions, all of them are answered in the main article on Frederick III, German Emperor. I'll work on putting some more info in here but I don't how much I want to clutter it with information on Frederick III. --Banime (talk) 11:17, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Something not right[edit]

Germany unified in 1871 and Wilhelm became Kaiser. He died in 1888. So why does it state that Wilhelm ruled Germany for 27 years ?? Looks like seventeen years to me. Maybe he ruled Prussia for 27 years or something, but he didn't rule Germany for 27 years. If I knew the answer to this inconsistency I would fix it myself. You're correct, King of Prussia for 27, Emperor for 17 of those years. Thanks --Banime (talk) 11:27, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think the article should be written more accurately now. If anyone knows of a better way to word it please do so. --Banime (talk) 11:49, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

==Rating of Start Class==

I have decided to rate this article start class as I feel it is decent enough and provides an overview of the year. It also contains Multiple links that help explain or illustrate the topic which is a requirement for start class. I'm not sure how much better this article can get as its a small topic but I'll see what I can do to expand it more and maybe one day get it to B class. --Banime (talk) 16:46, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

After expansion, pictures, and references, I feel that it has reached the C Class criteria. --Banime (talk) 18:53, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
