Wrong to treat all FSA as the same entity[edit]

The YPG and FSA are not allies, neither are they enemies. The FSA includes many groups some are allied, some are opponents, and some are neither.

FSA groups allied are part of Syrian Democratic Forces, Euphrates Volcano such as Jaysh al-Thuwar.

FSA opponents include Mare' Operations Room groups such as Falcons of Mount Zawiya Brigade and other smallers groups mainly around Aleppo & Afrin area. FugeeCamp^talk 20:52, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. This article should be merged into Syrian Kurdish–Islamist conflict (2013–present) and Rojava conflict, since there is really no longer an FSA left.--Jay942942 (talk) 23:41, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't agree - it still seems that the FSA plays a pretty significant role. I mean, the US still provides them tons of money and equipment, and in the recent ceasefire (can't find it's wikipedia page :/), the FSA played a pretty big role in it, not necessarily in the negotiations themselves, more in the negotiations revolving somewhat around them. But I'm most certainly no expert on the subject, so you may know more than I do. Nevertheless, I'm going to add a merge template to this and the aforementioned page you talked about. Change name of the article[edit]

In my opinion, this article needs a name change for a variety of reasons. Firstly, the YPG is not the sole actor anymore on the "Syrian Kurdish side" (also I know its not just Kurds). Secondly, I think using "FSA" in the title is not representative enough as non-FSA opposition groups are involved (such as Ahrar al-Sham). I also think whether this page should be one about relations or a conflict needs to be discussed. The YPG and Opposition had co-operated in the early stages of the war against the regime. However, since at least 2015 there is no denying that all Opposition groups that are not part of the SDF have been in open conflict with them. Also, the article name must represent the fact that there are pro-YPG FSA factions.

I propose the following names as potential replacements:
