This is joke, right??[edit]

This is joke not - a nation, no percentage required of blood, you can have one great-great-grandmother from the tribe and you can be a member of the tribe. Wow 5000 members and only 1200 just in the state. And in the town Wyandotte, Oklahoma they make just one third of the population, where is their clear area, USA is too small for that? That is catastrophe. Why don't they and other similar tribes just announce: 'We don't exist anymore'. ==zhenidrag==

Well because they still very much exist. Just because the culture and "blood" has been systematically wiped out for centuries doesn't mean the ancestors of the Wyandotte should forget where and who they came from. Merger proposal[edit]

Article Wyandotte Nation, created 26 October 2004‎, discusses the people of the Wyandot Nation in Kansas. Is it necessary to created a stub Wyandot Nation of Kansas? Gjs238 (talk) 23:00, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Strong oppose. The Wyandotte Nation is a federally recognized tribe based in Wyandotte, OK.[1]. The Wyandotte Nation of Kansas, despite using nation in its name, is a completely unrecognized group based in Kansas City, KS.[2] The latter occasionally appears in news articles, so could be made into its own article. I suggested a merge because the infobox on Wyandotte Nation has both Oklahoma and Kansas flags, the word "Kansas" appears 21 times in the article body and 4 times in the references. So even if the merge fails, the article already has (it seems to me) quite a bit of Kansas content. Perhaps a split would be more appropriate than a merge? There's already a Wyandot Nation of Kansas article that you've edited, so I don't understand why you are proposing a split or a merge. These are two completely different groups. While based in Oklahoma today, the Wyandotte Nation has extensive history, lands, and businesses in the state of Kansas. Apples and oranges! Yuchitown (talk) 00:37, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Yuchitown[reply]

Comment Thank you for retracting the merge proposal; the Wyandot Nation of Kansas and Wyandotte Nation are distinct entities, which is why I created the Wyandot Nation of Kansas article.
