Fair use rationale for Image:Arms-wrexham-cbc.jpg[edit]

Image:Arms-wrexham-cbc.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Undiscussed page move[edit]

This should not have been moved, without any prior discussion, to "County Borough of Wrexham". If we are to have the official name rather than the former one it should be moved to Wrexham County Borough (see the council's website, local press, Welsh media etc.). That move will now need the assistance of an administrator. Moving an important article like this should be discussed and an agreement reached before a move is made. Semi-protected edit request on 3 January 2019[edit]

1.List of high performing schools includes Castell Alun in Hope. This is a Flintshire school and should be deleted from this page 2. Chief Executive of Wrexham Council is Ian Bancroft who was appointed May 2018 and took up post August 2018. Dr Helen Patterson moved to Walsall MBC

Seven Wonders of Wales[edit]

Are the Seven Wonders of Wales prominent enough to mention in the lead? I only ask because they take up quite a bit of space which might be better used to mention things like the county borough's industrial history. Wrexham church, the Gresford bells, and the Overton yews are not things which would typically be mentioned in a county lead otherwise.

Also, sorry for inadvertently overriding your edits, @PamD; I wasn't expecting you to be back so soon and I find the 'resolve edit conflict' interface less use than a chocolate teapot. I've reinstated one, the second is no longer necessary, and we're discussing the third. Apologies! 08:06, 31 July 2023 (UTC) A.D.Hope (talk) 08:06, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@A.D.Hope: No problems at all: I only tweaked that lead sentence because it was unclear, from the punctuation (as an editor we mustn't abbreviate made clear) so I reworked the sentence. Probably not suitable for lead. I've tweaked the later mention because it seems if we're talking about that rhyme we should use its wording. I reinstated the Catholic cathedral in the lead as it then was.
The whole article uses VE's grotty numbered refs, so when you've finished I will run "RefRenamer" on it.
I agree that the new edit conflict resolver seems to be a chocolate teapot: doesn't produce results I expect, doesn't allow different editors to work independently on different sections without conflict, all pretty useless. Ah well. I'm moving house imminently and have vast amounts of decluttering and packing to do so have good intentions of keeping away from Wikipedia for a while (except that tomorrow is 1st of month so I'll be creating a handful of WP:Women in Red articles for the monthlay editathons!)
As for "wasn't expecting you to be back so soon", it's the difference between lying in bed looking on mobile, and sitting at laptop with my breakfast! PamD 08:16, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm quite happy to leave the wonders out of the lead, we'll just have to wait and see if anyone else chimes in. I'm finished for now, so feel free to run RefRenamer and tidy things up a bit.
Moving is always a hassle, I don't blame you for staying away for a bit. Will you still be our resident Lancashire lass or are you inexplicably leaving the best county in the UK? A.D.Hope (talk) 08:28, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As the main contributor to the article, I only included the seven wonders as I felt that Wrexham being home to almost half of them was surprising and did mention it in the article, but don’t mind it removed.
I am aware I need to name references, largely delayed that as I aimed to still do major restructuring of this article, as I may have made it a bit too long, and splitting content to new articles or Wrexham. DankJae 10:46, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The seven wonders are a good inclusion, so I'd definitely keep them in the body. The lead is probably a bit too cramped to include them now I've given it the full four-paragraph treatment — I'll go through it again with an eye to trimming things down, it's just helpful to take a step back sometimes.
The article might be a tad long in places. I'm just looking at geography, and while most of the actual information can probably be kept it could be shortened with some judicious edits to the structure. A.D.Hope (talk) 15:27, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@A.D.Hope "Will you still be our resident Lancashire lass": yes - we're moving next door! All sorts of reasons. Have already dealt with one utility who emailed back to check 'cos they couldn't believe our change of address from n to n-1, no other change! PamD 18:36, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
