Proposed Changes

Hello All, I would like to clean up the article with formatting as well as add more information, especially from the sources since they are mostly unused. I would like to add headings about African American impact, and on the fire and rebuild of the memorial. I would also like to revise the article to include more about the memorial's significance to the area at the time when it was built, as it was one of the only places African Americans could gather freely. I am going to add three sections: History, building, and present. The information given will be divided into those three sections to make it more understandable for the readers. Moreover, I am going to use two different sources to add more information to this article. My article observations that need to be changed

To start with, I've found the title to be a bit long. The author attached "Kimball, West Virginia" to the title, and I considered it needless, as already stated in the article, thus it needs to be changed.

Also, the paper has no headings, so it was a little difficult to see what the writer was trying to explain. Thus, the article must be provided with proper headings.

It is also important to say that the article is extremely dull. As a reader, I did not understand what the writer wanted to focus on in the article. His thoughts were all over the place and not well organized. There were lots of gaps and unnecessary information that confused me, for example, why the African Americans?. Also, the article's angle in narrow, as it only focuses on the past, which makes it a bit bias.

A few things to help you to understand the article and its reasons for existence. The article is one of an 80,000-article series intended to cover all locations listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the drive to create the articles they tend to be somewhat brief, at least until someone comes back and fills them out. However, many of these subjects have limited means of sourcing - often the best documentation is the nomination form for the NRHP. NRHP nominations respond to several potential criteria for significance - they may be important for their style, for their association with a particular person, or for their role in regional or national history.

We can only modify and improve articles in conformance to available sources, so it's important to bring those sources and to explain how you will use them to broaden the article. Simply complaining about the scope won't accomplish much. You need to do the research. This is an interesting building with an unusual history and constituency, it deserves some careful attention. If you want to add content about now, go find the sources and cite them.

Please review the Wikipedia manual of style - WP:MOS. It guides you on formatting and organization, and should be followed closely.

As for "unnecessary information," you're missing much of the point of the article and the reason the site is nationally recognized - the memorial was built by and for African Americans in a part of the state where they are very much under-represented. Your comments about "a bit bias" are both ungrammatical (it's "biased") and appear to betray a lack of understanding of the subject and its historical significance.
