Firstly, the article responds to a call expressed on other pages for a link to the said Association.

Secondly, as per the article on the International Psychoanalytic Association, the article concerns an historical institution that stands as a major theoretical and cultural reference point for thinkers and practitioners (beyond the members themselves).
