Needs some technical details[edit]

What happens to the silver in the anode? I suspect it precipitates out as silver chloride but do not have a cite.
What happens to the PGM in the anode? Why doesn't this material end up in the cathode?

Here is an online resource with some details on this process. The publication date was munged by OCR but looks like July 1918.

Needs clearer chemical description[edit]

This doesn't make sense:

"Gold and other metals are dissolved at the anode, and pure gold (coming through the chloroauric acid by ion transfer) is plated onto the gold cathode."

What is the structure and source of chloroauric acid?
