The World's last Witherite mine[edit]

Wasn't the world's last Witherite mine in County Durham and didn't it shut around about 1969 due to exhaustion. Stuffed cat (talk) 18:10, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Uses of Witherite[edit]

Wasn't Witherite used for 'barium meals' as used in x-raying the human digestive / alimentary system. Didn't other (and less satisfactory) barium based alternatives have to be used when the last witherite mine closed? Stuffed cat (talk) 18:14, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
