Pronunciation[edit]

Just a quick check: It is pronounced Wittam or Wittum? Anywikiuser (talk) 18:52, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I once lived in Essex (Chelmsford), and I was sure it was /'wɪtəm/ (your second pronunciation). I'll try finding the editor who put that there... Kelisi (talk) 01:12, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's pronounced in Essex "Witturm" - short vowel 'i', equal emphasis of both syllables.92.40.114.177 (talk) 20:21, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's not pronounced 'with-ham' which is it's most common mispronunciation. 'Wit-ham' is probably the easiest way to explain how it's pronounced. (I've lived there for 8 years) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gilescope (talkcontribs) 07:42, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
