They might not be fierce, but at over 3 kg they can give you a mean slap if you handle them roughly :-)) Astronaut (talk) 02:10, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Synthetic antifreeze gene[edit]

I have been trying to clean up a variety of pages on GE food technology. The "Fish Tomato" by DNA Plant Technology is one of the most canonical. I have provided a link to the USDA's Environmental Assesment http://www.isb.vt.edu/biomon/releapdf/9107901r.ea.pdf but I am still confused about the line "The tomato plants have been modified by incorporating a synthetic antifreeze gene modeled from one isolated fromt he winter flounder." and how to describe the process, taking into account the concerns of both experts and non-experts alike. Any suggestions? Infoeco (talk) 12:09, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Antifreeze protein[edit]

Should there be mention of the significance of winter flounder in the discovery of antifreeze proteins? --Gsurfer04 (talk) 17:33, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
