I don't think Wilpshire Golf Club has enough significant coverage from third-party sources to have a separate article (there is the AA Guide to Golf Courses 1999 but there is probably not enough coverage there and it's only one source). It should probably be merged into the Wilpshire article. snigbrook (talk) 19:34, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have created this page because it was on the requested articles list in the Wikipedia Golf Portal. I agree that this golf course is not of particular interest. I have searched the literature that I have available and the internet but have failed to come up with anything remotely interesting. In the list of external links it is of course possible to name most of the websites that mention The Wilpshire, but that does not really contribute. There must be some reason why the Wilpshire is on the requested articles list, maybe some other user can expand it (this is after all the Wikipedia).

If there are more requests in the portal that need removing I would suggest doing that first. Now I feel like I am wasting my time (of which I have little) by generating articles that do not contribute. It will be clear by now that I prefer to generate articles that are requested rather than generating articles that are original.

The problem with requested articles lists is that there are probably too many red links that should probably don't meet the inclusion criteria for articles, and it isn't explained anywhere whether they should be removed (you could mention it on the talk page). I've occasionally removed red links from the lists, but only where they were hoaxes or violated BLP policy. snigbrook (talk) 20:09, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, 2 years later... I agree that the golf club does not appear to be notable enough for its own article and have merged into this one.--BelovedFreak 20:48, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
