Untitled section[edit]

I'm not sure if an article should be written from this perspective. Interesting subject matter though

  • Agree, "When you reach the top you look across the plain and can clearly see the hills around the edges. From the air it is a remarkable sight." is a bit POV... Can't bring myself to rewrite it though, someone else will have to. - Halidecyphon 18:46, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah i kinda looked at it but its not too good atm Maelgwn 05:11, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures[edit]

If anyone out there can find better pics, preferably from the air on a slightly clearer day it would be much appreaciated. The ones with the clouds make it look like it rains in this area, which is does not. Maelgwn 05:11, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Opening Sentence / Paragraph[edit]

The opening sentence / paragraph should say WHAT it is. Is it a VALLEY? Is it a CANYON? You need to write the article like an encyclopedia, and tell the reader the basics, like an encyclopedia would. I don't think that it is a pound. Please fix. - !4.240.78.128 (talk) 02:46, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neither - at the start it correctly states that it is an Amphitheatre - Peripitus (Talk) 00:43, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
BS. "An amphitheatre (alternatively amphitheater) is an open-air venue for spectator sports, concerts, rallies, or theatrical performances." Wilpena Pound is to BIG to be an amphitheatre. It is a valley. - 4.240.165.240 (talk) 19:58, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Your frankness is most refreshing. The wider world and the pound itself seem to agree with me. Trust not that wikipedia definitions are definitive - Peripitus (Talk) 05:04, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aboriginal people[edit]

Very disappointed that there is no mention at all of the original inhabitants of the Flinders Ranges!! They have been airbrushed out of this bit of Australian history it seems. I'm unable to contribute this missing info, but somebody needs to, and soon. Melba1 (talk) 15:57, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
