No title[edit]

It seems that the less people know the more they delete stuff. In reference to the name of Wilno Canada , I belive that that was independent of the European history I'm not sure that the town of Wilno Ontario shares a history with the European town, though the name most likley came from there. Clean up[edit]

I removed the "Urban Legend" section completely, because in my opinion, quite frankly it detracted from the article because of its rambling style which appeared to be an attempt to talk around the whole "Vampires, Dwarves, And Witches Among The Ontario Kashubs" issue, without even mentioning it. I'm afraid, that like it or not, that "issue" is part of the history of the community, whether the report itself is historically accurate or not is a separate issue, which of course can be addressed in a properly referenced fashion, but it's not going to go away by simply obfuscating or ignoring it. I'll attempt to put something together to address that. Also, in an encyclopedic sense, in my opinion the annual chicken dinner doesn't need a separate section of its own. I certainly belive that both sides of this urban ledgend story should be heard. Far too long a one sided treaty of this rather ridiculous accusation has been noted. Did the more real side offend anyone? after all we need to look more at reality. Many small towns list their events across the wikis as part of their loacal events. Hello 66.51.254.97, I'm sorry to hear that you feel that other editors are only detracting from the article rather than improving it; but please keep in mind that Wikipedia has policies in place that require additions to the encyclopedia to be made in particular ways. One of the most important is the need to provide references when adding material; please see WP:VERIFY. Without references to at least provide historical context, the section that's been re-added regarding "Vampires, Dwarves, And Witches Among The Ontario Kashubs" makes very little sense to the average reader, who lack a knowledge of local history; which is why it was removed the first time from the article. Also, I've noticed that an editor has re-added material that was previously removed because of it's promotional nature regarding the annual Wilno Chicken Supper. Wikipedia should not be used for advertising or promotional purposes. Please see: WP:PROMOTION. Poland was partitioned by Germany, Russia and Austria at that time , please go to any public library or look in any Encylopedia to verify this .....
