The result of the proposal was no consensus. I made Willis Building a disambiguation page, since the move proposal failed and it was just a redirect to Willis Building (disambiguation). I also moved 51 Lime Street to Willis Building (London) (this did not require a deletion), since it is the planned name and appears to be more common on Google. If it ends up being called 51 Lime Street, as discussed below, it can be moved back. Anyone who objects is welcome to discuss it with me. -- Kjkolb 09:40, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

• Support The move and creation of a disambiguation was not discussed, and the page that was moved out talks about both of the buildings
• Oppose - Well actually I've now sorted things before noticing this page move request. Its true the page was moved incorrectly using cut-n-paste by a new user without discussion, but I created, mostly wrote and illustrated this page and I agree with the earlier page move. The new building at 51 Lime Street is also to be called the Willis Building because the same Willis Group is involved and the new London building is likely to become better known than Foster's much noted, earlier Willis Building. Redirecting Willis Building to a disambig page seems like the best approach for the moment. -- Solipsist 22:08, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

My interpretation of the guidelines was that because the Willis building in Ipswich has been called that , whilst 51 Lime Street is believed it will be called that, that the ideal solution would be articles named Willis Building with one of the other uses templates in it to redirect to 51 Lime Street; or redirect Willis Building directly to Willis Building, Ipswich, rather than disabiguate between two terms (which seems pointless)Ratarsed 06:55, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I could easily agree with you there. Although I was at the 51 Lime Street construction site a few weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure that the signs hung on the building were calling it the Willis Building (I might even have a photo - actually the existing picture shows the name well enough). On the other hand online reference sites like Emporis are using the name '51 Lime Street'. One problem is that buildings often have a working title during construction, with the chosen name only being applied once the building is finished. According to the Wikipedia article, the Willis Group is planning to rent a fair number of the floors, so we could end up with a situation like 30 St Mary Axe where the name 'Swiss Re Tower' was dropped on completion in order not to discourage other potential renters. Perhaps we should wait until the new building is finished and see what official name they settle on. -- Solipsist 11:41, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Sounds like a plan -- I did see on the official website that there is something like 10,000sqft of un let floor space, so we may end up in the 30 St Mary Axe situation. -- Ratarsed 12:39, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Swimming pool cover-up

Was the pool really covered just to capture more space, or did it prove not functional due to the inevitable chlorine smell circulating through the open-plan building? Knowing how well the pool worked out here would be good information for Architects considering a pool in a new building design.
