Dr. Maples loved his family more than his work; he married his high school sweetheart Margret Maples, they had two kids: Lisa Maples Johns and Cynthia Maples Hardaway. He would soon become a grandfather of 3 kids Nicole Occonal, Kristopher Johns, and Dylan Johns. Dr. Maples also loved to adventure out into the wilderness, it was there he found peace and quiet. He was diagnosed with blastoma grade 4 cancer, a tumor the size of a baseball and had a 4% chance of survival. He passed away on February 27, 1997 in his home. He will be remembered always and forever as the worlds greatest Anthropologist; in his memory the president of UF honored him by dedicating the forensic center in his name. 18:14, 18 September 2008 150.104.211.23 (Talk)
