Welcome[edit]

Mr. Siqueira has acccused me of racism and of posting racist remarks to Victor Stenger's Avoid List. I deny this. I am not a racist and am totally opposed to the things that Mr. Siqueira has claimed that I sai d on my page. At the present time, Mr. Siquiera's claims are unsourced as he has not provided any way for anyone to check his claims independently. Thus, they are in violation of WikiPedia policy regarding unsourced claims about living persons, particularly when (as in this case) they may be (and in my opinion, are) libellous.

There is an easy way to resolve this issue. Since he claims that I made these comments on Victor Stenger's list, and all of the postings to Vic's list are archived, all Mr. Siqueira has to do is to provide the Date and Subject of the alleged communications. (Posting the alleged content of the messages will not do...they might be forgeries, whereas the archives are forgery-proof). He can provide them to FCYTravis, to whom he has appealed for mediation. Wikipedia involvment[edit]

Jefferys joined the Wikipedia community in April 2005 as User:Billjefferys. He wrote the initial version of the entry on admissible decision rules and contributed to the section on uninformative priors, and other topics of interest to Bayesian inference. He has been contributing to the Fine-tuned universe, and the related Ikeda/Jefferys Argument.

This should not be in the article because it's not that important w/r/t the other aspects of Professor Jefferys's life. See the discussion at: Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:Notable_Wikipedian. —Keenan Pepper 04:14, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but in order to substantiate such a controversial claim, you will need to be able to source it to a highly reliable reference with a reputation for fact checking. I withdraw my "contribution" to the entry William Jefferys. It seems that Jefferys actually has a quite pro active and robust stand against any type of racism. So, if indeed my previous claim had any ontological truth in it, it was so not because of any racism in Mr. Jefferys, but rather due to a misfortune that happened in the forum where the events took place (avoid-L internet forum). As far as I am concerned, thus, this issue is over.
