Untitled[edit]

This article is about Bill Stanton, who had a career as a radio writer.

In that Bill Stanton was my father I acknowledge there may be a conflict of interest. However, I do believe that I have stuck to the facts, and the information I have submitted has merit in its own right.

All his published plays and short stories were braodcast by the BBC between 1962 and sometime in the late Seventies. As such every one of them was listed in the Radio Times.

His attendence at University of York is a matter of record, as indeed was his age when he left as the oldest graduate of that university. The translation he did of the Middle English Poem Pearl was submitted while he was there, and as such has status as an academic work.

As for 'promotion', my father died in 1999. Neither I not any member of my family will financially benefit from his inclusion in Wikipedia, but it will offer a reference for all those many people who knew him and worked with him.

I am not alone in considering his work merits notice. The BBC certainly considered it was when they commissioned work. The link goes to a webpage that allows the public to access his work, and as such offers a public service. No fees are demanded for access to his work.

If you have any doubt, I suggest you consult his website.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Andyofnewark (talkcontribs) 10:23, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move?[edit]

Would it be okay if we moved this article to William Stanton or Bill Stanton? Whatever he was known as in the profession. GlassCobra (Review) 11:51, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, whoops. Looks like William Stanton is taken. Okay, I'm going to go ahead and create a disambig page there, and I'll also create Bill Stanton as a redirect here to the disambig page. GlassCobra (Review) 11:52, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
