Date of birth and place[edit]

In the foreword of Robert Harris’ new book Act of oblivion, the author claims to have found the birth date and place of William Goffe. As I don’t have access to the whole book, I wonder if someone else could add this information. Thanks, --Polarlys (talk) 19:25, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

On page 33 of the novel, Harris repeats the claim made by a 19th century researcher that Goffe was born in Wales. This is already included in the article, and appears to be incorrect. Robinvp11 (talk) 17:32, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Last sentence of Legacy is uncited, so I cannot assess as B class. You may use this review: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2022/aug/30/act-of-oblivion-by-robert-harris-review-master-writer-leads-us-on-17th-century-manhunt.
Wars of the Three Kingdoms, paragraph 4: Cromwell demanded an apology from whom? What was the personal insult? It's not clear.
When was he promoted major general? Unless I missed it, the article does not say. Since "Major-General" are the first words in the article, this is important.
