Cousin - John G. Smith?[edit]

This sentence appears in the "Early Life" section:

Smith, known to his friends as "Baldy", was born at St. Albans, Vermont, a cousin of John G. Smith, and the son of Ashbel and Sarah Butler Smith.

John G. Smith currently points to the disambig page for John Smith. Is this intended to be Vermont Governor J. Gregory Smith? If so, do we have a citation? Also (if my assumption about his cousin is correct) I think we should list his parents first, and mention that he was part of Vermont's Smith political family afterwards. (If J. Gregory Smith was his cousin, then so was Worthington Curtis Smith, and John Smith (Vermont) was his uncle.)

Battles and Leaders series?[edit]

'Grant, according to his own statement "was not long in finding out that the objections to Smith's promotion were well grounded," but he never stated the grounds of his complaint, and Smith, in the Battles and Leaders series, maintained that they were purely of a personal character.'
