Was he exiled from Vermont?[edit]

This article says Fairfield's father fought with loyalist forces and relocated to Quebec in 1779. The then-still-unrecognized state of Vermont (recognized at that point neither by the thirteen United States that were in rebellion against Britain nor by anyone else) had a policy of exiling loyalists from Vermont and confiscating their property. Was Fairfield's father exiled? If so, should this article say so? It also says he was born in Pawlet, Vermont in 1769 or '70. Should it mention that nobody called it Vermont until 1777? In 1770 it was a disputed territory claimed by both New Hampshire and New York but neither was governing it then; all effective government was at the local level.
