Categories[edit]

1. The subject is a member of the category 'Earls of Devon (1553)' which is a sub-category of 'Earls of Devon' which is in turn a subcategory of 'Earls in the Peerage of England'. As stated in Wikipedia:Categorization#Subcategorization "an article should be categorised as low down in the category hierarchy as possible, without duplication in parent categories above it. In other words, a page or category should rarely be placed in both a category and a subcategory or parent category (supercategory) of that category". I have therefore deleted the category 'Earls in the Peerage of England'. 2. As can be seen from 'Category:Baronets in the Baronetage of England', it does not include peers, just as e.g. the categories for marquesses do not include dukes who are also marquesses. I have therefore deleted this category. Alekksandr (talk) 21:18, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
