CPED[edit]

Hi, I have made a comprehensive tidy-up of the English which, whilst perfectly understandable, was obviously written by a non-native speaker. I hope I haven't changed any substantive meaning. Bom dia/boa tarde :)

Article rename[edit]

I suggest renaming this article as William Carr Beresford. Although there are other "William Beresford", none of them is named "Carr", and this naming would be more "natural" than using nobility titles MBelgrano (talk) 19:12, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the convention is to use titles. Mjroots (talk) 08:23, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Error in article[edit]

Box at bottom of page says he was a member of the House of Commons for County Waterford 1830-31. This was after he was elevated to the House of Lords, and the article for the constituency says the member in that period was Lord George Beresford instead. Both the body of this article and the article on the constituency agree that his membership was 1811-14. I don't want to try fixing this myself, but somebody should. Wrong image[edit]

The image in the tab "Peninsular War" is from the King D. João VI of Portugal, and not of William Carr Beresford 217.129.159.137 (talk) 07:59, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

new book[edit]

I see that the list of sources is missing the book Marshal William Carr Beresford: ‘The ablest man I have yet seen with the army’ which is about the man's life until 1820. If someone is interested, they could maybe improve the article. Emmarade (talk) 00:47, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
