Hi,

I created this article because I believe that Mr. Bengen provided a really useful rule (the 4 percent solution) which has become a fundamental rule of thumb in the personal finance circles. I first came across his name in the book - The Number by Lee Eisenberg. Have to disagree with the claim that this article is blatantly self-promotional, because I wrote this of my own volition. I have never met, talked or contacted Mr. Bengen. I wrote it because I thought he had added something meaningful to the personal finance literature.

Bill Bengen Retires[edit]

In 2013, William Bengen sold his firm (Bengen Financial) to Dean Roland Russell LLC, another San Diego-area RIA. According to Financial Advisor magazine [1], Bengen, said his decision was based simply on his desire to spend more time with his wife, family and recently born grandson. He added he will be continuing his research on retirement investing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.88.102.114 (talk) 21:19, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
