William Louis AndersonWilliam Anderson (bishop) — The naming conventions state that we dab with parentheses rather than middle names DBD 00:07, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. No they don't. Or at least, the relevant guideline reads in part the titles of articles on people (arrived at using the principles described above) sometimes require further disambiguation (my emphasis), so we first need to establish that William Anderson rather than William Louis Anderson is the desired article title. I get 57,000 ghits [1] for the existing article title, so it seems unlikely. Andrewa (talk) 09:18, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • The relevant question is whether this guy is better known as William Louis Anderson or as William Anderson. If I'm looking at a list of guys named William Anderson (as at William Anderson (disambiguation)), and I wanted to find this one, would it be more helpful to list him as "William Louis Anderson" or as "William Anderson (bishop)"? • He had served in all three services and gained a Distinguished Service Cross before taking holy orders, so many looking for him may not even realise the church connection. Andrewa (talk) 22:30, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
