CD Baby[edit]

The CD Baby addition reads like an ad. I note that CD Baby has a Wikipedia listing that is currently being disputed. Is the CD Baby link here considered an ad? Should it be removed? R. Kevin Doyle 18:33, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion[edit]

I'm not a fan of tagging articles, but this section really needs some supporting documentations:

The album, entitled Dancing for Mental Health, uses affirmations set to music to poke fun at the self help entrepeners who "build the listener's inner self and encourage personal growth through the thought that anything is possible".

I remember the release of the album, and from what I recall, Goldsmith was completely serious in her desire to make a "self-help" record. Unless this viewpoint can be substantiated by an interview with Goldsmith or one of her collaborators, this POV should be struck. K8 fan (talk) 00:03, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vocoder[edit]

Having heard the record and seen a TV interview with Will Powers, I'm pretty sure that the voice effect is not achieved with a vocoder but with a pitch shifter. These are completely different electronic techniques for processing a voice. If there's a preponderance of reliable sources that say vocoder, I will stand corrected, but I've changed the lead text for now. It should be uncontroversial that the Will Powers voice is at a lower pitch than Lynn Goldsmith's natural voice, however the effect is achieved.
