Deletion of races, classes, and paths section[edit]

Can I have an explanation about the deletion of these sections so I can do them better ? Expyron (talk) 00:04, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Summarize. Don't list all races, classes, their backstory and their characteristics. This is not a game guide and it is not WildStra Wikia. The article should reflect on the game, the subject, from a real-world perspective, not discuss in-game minute details. :) ·Salvidrim!·  00:18, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hey Salvidrim, so I trimmed down all the section for the classes, races, and paths into this paragraph located under gameplay, do you think it's okay? Or is it still too much info

"WildStar allows players to choose from six classes, eight races, and four paths to play. Classes are limited to certain pre-determined races [3] while there are no restrictions on paths. The six classes consist of the Warrior, the Esper, the Spellslinger, the Stalker, and two unannounced classes. Playable races are the Cassian, Draken, Mechari, Humans, Granok, the Aurin, and two unannounced races. The path the player chooses upon character creation determines what kind of extra content the player enjoys. The four available paths are the Solider, Explorer, Settler, and Scientist." Use of italic for "WildStar"[edit]

Should we put consistently "WildStar" in italic through the article ? Expyron (talk) 08:39, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, every time you use it in reference to the game's title, it should be italicized. (The exception would be if there was a character in the game named "Wildstar". You wouldn't italicize that. Just like if you refer to Sonic the Hedgehog the game, its italics, if its the character, no italics. Sergecross73 msg me 14:56, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 1 April 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: consensus to move the Image Comics page to WildStar (Image Comics), but no consensus to move the video game to the plain title, per the discussion below. It may be worth revisiting the issue of the video game in the future in light of the evidence presented by Cúchullain, but there was insufficient support for that move to perform it as part of this discussion. – This page gets around 140 hits daily while the current page at WildStar gets around 10 with notability being very doubtful. Clear primary topic for the name. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 03:52, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if the video game is the primary topic but at the very least the comic book character clearly isn’t.--67.68.210.105 (talk) 04:22, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the move to WildStar (Image Comics); there's also Wildstar (DC Comics). Oppose the other move since there is no primary topic; WildStar should instead redirect to Wildstar as a redirect from ambiguous term. —Xezbeth (talk) 10:09, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree with Xezbeth -- ferret (talk) 13:31, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree with Xezbeth: Oppose 1st, Support 2nd, Redirect "WildStar" to dab page per reasons listed above by Xezbeth. Paintspot Infez (talk) 19:14, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • To editor Paintspot: - would you mind confirming your vote? I think you might be referring to them in reverse. If I'm wrong, apologies. -- Netoholic @ 10:20, 7 April 2018 (UTC) [reply]
  • Oppose first, support second per above, no primary due to WP:RECENT on the video game. 140 daily hits isn't a lot and no evidence yet that it'll be a lasting topic of general knowledge. -- Netoholic @ 05:29, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose first, no primary topic Support second WildStarWildStar (Image Comics) per Xezbeth. In ictu oculi (talk) 18:48, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree with Xezbeth. Move "WildStar" to "WildStar (Image Comics)", redirect "WildStar" to "Wildstar", and leave "WildStar (video game)" where it is. –IagoQnsi (talk) 03:54, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as initially proposed. Page views show that the video game is not only the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC among the only two articles that spell it "WildStar", it's more prominent than all the articles that spell it "Wildstar" combined as well.[1]. The video game should be at WildStar with a hat note to the dab page.--Cúchullain t/c 19:35, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

– Clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Pageviews show that the game gets an average 212 views daily compared to 8 daily for the Image Comics series, and it's long enough after release and the previous discussion that recentism can no longer be rationally argued. The DC Comics character gets even fewer views, and does not appear to be notable regardless, but I think the evidence is obvious enough that whether it's notable or not doesn't even matter. While there is another video game character called "Derek Wildstar", this is a partial title match at best. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 22:48, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • The proposal makes sense in term of usage [2]. Uanfala (talk) 12:45, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 04:44, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support stats appear to support the claim that this is the main use of term WildStar.--67.70.24.37 (talk) 01:14, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
