..yes i copied it from http://www.wickerpedia.org/wiki/Main_Page/ which seemed only fair since it appeared whoever wrote that copied the first paragraph over from here^^

Unfortunatley the Wickerpedia entry on Wicker appears to have been copy and pasted from multiple copyrighted sources. We can't accept the content.

WICKERPEDIA? Thats a parody of the real deal! Parodys are typically inaccurate. --Defender 911 21:30, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is also a SPOOF of wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.132.68.226 (talk) 22:20, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This discussion has been overtaken by events since I just completed heavy editing on this article, including quotations and citations. — Molly-in-md (talk) 19:09, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wait, seriously?[edit]

A link to The Wicker Man? Come on. Just because it has "wicker" in the title doesn't mean that it's relevant to this article's subject matter. Why not link to the video game Thief in the article for Theft? I'm removing the link.--Dark Green (talk) 20:01, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The link to Wicker man had reappeared when I did my heavy editing. I left it, because it references old uses of wicker, which the Wicker article also discusses (example: influence on Celtic art). — Molly-in-md (talk) 19:09, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

Someone at IP address 67.183.86.93 changed the etymology section to claim that "wicker" was named after the Wicker family of Ireland and their furniture business. The statement is unsourced, it contradicts the dictionary entry referenced earlier in the article, and the supposed London Stock Exchange listing for the company doesn't exist. So it looks very much like a troll, and I've re-added the original etymology section. I suppose it's just possible that the American Heritage Dictionary, Merriam-Webster, etc. are wrong here, but I'm not going to believe it without good evidence. --82.12.164.179 (talk) 01:59, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

external link "wickerpedia" is a joke wiki[edit]

"Wickerpedia" is a one-note joke wiki, that has exactly one article "Wicker", that has less information than this article.

Is that really necessary?
