I think I reverted this nonsense at least once while the Westerwaldlied was still part of the main Westerwald article. Now, in English, sunshine cannot be "small". That is not an accepted collocation. Sunshine can, however, be "slight". That is the way in which I originally translated it, and yes, I speak German and am well aware that klein means "small", but that's as may be. Kleiner Sonnenschein is apparently an accepted collocation in German — but it is one that cannot be translated literally into English without the speaker sounding as if he doesn't know his English.
