Gibberish[edit]

Chunks of this article are scarcely in English and are in desperate need of revision. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.168.28.33 (talk) 11:34, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mushrooms and Lichtheim[edit]

The Lichtheim quote was from [1] and was by our guidelines a copyright violation. The mushroom stuff though interesting was covered in too much detail. A couple of sentences would be enough unless anyone can find some reliable sources discussing Berlant's hypothesis. Berlant raised it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ancient Egypt and of course there is a COI problem, it shouldn't be here without discussion in the first place. My personal question is: Does an exyclopedia really need such psychodelic drug-trash? Besides: Neither Lichtheim nor Lepper write anything about psychedelic drugs or even shrooms. --Nephiliskos (talk) 12:52, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Other than such speculation there seems to be no actual evidence that Egyptians used or wrote about mushrooms - I'm not convinced it does belong here at all. Dougweller (talk) 13:37, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
