Australian Roads Low‑importance

Extension To Furntree Gully Road[edit]

For as long as I can remember the Melways has shown a Proposed Arterial Road ^[1] extending from the current Dandenong Road end of Westall Road through to Furntree Gully Road. Inspection of aerial photography shows that there appears to be a reserve through this proposed path ^[2]. I say reserve because I can observe that there are no structures in its path, incidentally Google maps now shows the extension extending to Wellington Road also. --Jixor 05:38, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The reservation does exist and is zoned for a road (see Monash Planning Scheme online) to Ferntree Gully Road/Monash Freeway. It used to go further north through Glen Waverley as shown in the 1991-92 Melway as a proposed Arterial Road to Springvale and Highbury Road. This is no longer zoned for a road (see planning scheme online).
