Peoria vs West Peoria[edit]

It's almost stupid for West Peoria to be called its own city. I mean, seriously, the only difference between Peoria and West Peoria is crossing a street. If you're familiar with the area, you know what I'm talking about.. if you're on Main Street coming south around that curve just past Farmington Road, it's stupid that all you have to do is move about forty feet and you're in West Peoria.

Sigh* I'm sure it was different in years past, before Peoria grew in that direction, but jeez..

--If we were part of Peoria, we would be able to use the library, have PPD and PFD services, and have other services that Peoria offers that West Peoria does not take advantage of. Because West Peoria has been run the way it has, it remains a very good "neighborhood" with a much smaller crime rate than that of Peoria (per capita) and it's affordable. I truly believe it is because we are an independent city run by councilmen without their own agendas... Check out the neighboring communities of Peoria that are right across Western... there are only about 3 streets that are not infested with Bradley students and in some areas, crime. Funny how that one street keeps West Peoria standing. If you're going to live on this side of town, unless you live on Moss Ave. or the two surrounding streets in Peoria, West Peoria is the only place to be. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.214.98.57 (talk) 06:27, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
