This town is rarely referred to with its form of government in the name. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 19:26, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the move tag for now, since there doesn't seem to be a consensus on moving this article. Should this change, feel free to add a new request to Wikipedia:Requested moves. —Cleared as filed. 23:01, 20 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

change[edit]

This is true. There is nothing in this town that is worth to be advertised. One library is built near the Town Hall that needs improvement. The museum the town council seems destined to refuse and only allow it to open on certain days. The school is ignored by the town, which only seems interested in the title of the "West Milford Highlander Marching Band" and the amount of students that pass. There is an art association that is trying to form and bring art to the town but that is also neglected. Sport programs aren't supported as much as they should be. The town government is so against one another that they fight even off the campaign. Truly the only thing that seems to be the reason for the great tourism to this place is the wildlife and trails. It appears to be a place for only the tales of ghosts and KKK clan meeting. This town is still hiding from the world as if it is its own world. And the amount that town worships that president is disturbing, this town is what is described as the perfect white town. This area needs to evolve.

    • This article states that Queen of Peace was the only Catholic school. This is not true. There were 2 Catholic elementary schools - St. Josephs & Queen of Peace. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:558:6026:56:597:46A2:C917:4FF2 (talk) 02:57, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

07460[edit]

I reverted the removal of 07460. Just because the post office itself is in Stockholm doesn't mean it does not service areas in West Milford. See the reference map at [1]. --Kbdank71 14:56, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AH...misunderstood. Good call Bdog6000 (talk) 20:56, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Businesses[edit]

As of October 2008, the article states that the ShopRite plaza was created in the late 1970's. This is incorrect. I lived in the town from 1969 through 1978 and for as long as I could remember the ShopRite store was present, with a liquor store nextdoor and a bakery. Around 1974-75 the movie theater was built, and the left-most store front of the building contained a record (music) shop. The McDonald's was built around 1978-80. The A&P plaza also contained a large "Rockaway Sales" store in the mid-70's.Charles Oppermann (talk) 18:20, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As of January 2013, this is still the case. I lived there from 1967-72 and when I first arrived, the "old Shop-Rite" was located on Union Valley Rd near the Pinecliff Lake dam. The new one at Marshall Hill and Union Valley opened shortly after I arrived, well before the closure of Jungle Habitat, which was still in operation when I left. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Randysutt (talkcontribs) 17:40, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Have added contradict markup. The article statements regarding business timelines are un-sourced and in my experience, flat out incorrect.--Charles Oppermann (talk) 17:57, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Current issues[edit]

The information contained in this section is unsubstantiated and misleading in my estimation. There are several inaccuracies and would like to discuss in order to set the record straight.Kat07450 (talk) 15:18, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About "New City Village/Demon Alley"[edit]

It would be helpful if the paragraph about this development (information about which is buried in the section "Pequonnock River Watershed") was augmented to indicate that a number of rumors/urban legends circulate about its "sudden disappearance". What these rumors are need not be stated, but it would explain to uninformed readers why there are redirects to this article. (I came here after viewing a "Dark 5" video on YouTube which recounted some of the rumors around its removal, in order to determine just what truth lay behind this account. Unlike many YouTube channels of this genre, "Dark 5" attempts to keep close to the facts & not just glamor-up the usual urban legends. Thus my effort to verify this account.) -- llywrch (talk) 18:49, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
