{{WikiProject Schools |1=Jh12]] (2=talk) 13:00, 28 July 2008 (UTC) |importance=Low |needs-infobox=yes |info=Start by length, but the article has no references and unnecessary lists. See Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Citing sources. In particular, effort must be taken to carefully cite the Achievements section. Any material that isn't cited can be removed at any time. The Project Chronology should be incorporated into the history section, and the List of Staff Members is preferably removed: see Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines for what to include and what not to. Good luck, --[[User:Jh12}} }} I adjusted it to be more 3rd person, but I believe it is biased towards glamorizing the school. Would an NPOV veteran look over this? If I'm wrong, please correct me. – Lunarbunny 05:21, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I had to delete nearly the entire Overview section, since it was a direct lift from the school's website and therefore a copyright violation. - Engineer Bob 07:09, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I should have checked that in the first place. Oh well, glad somebody's vigilant. – Lunarbunny 04:06, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm from a nearby school, and West is definately not known for "winning tradition"... Askbros 09:02, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should the part about the director be there? Should that be a different page? Askbros 09:05, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Askbros, I tried to put the director in a seperate page but somehow it got deleted. Paleskies 06:11, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page disgusts me. It is so biased, "Mr. Banim is a nice man" ? wtf? i'm from the school and i can only wonder which out of the many biased and annoying people totally butchered this page. Also, why does the entertainment unit have to have its own seperate section? I know from experience that the entertainment unit are really weird and have a bit too much pride for their own good, it should just be deleted, since the article on it is a piece of crap, (look at the mr. banim is a nice man reference above)I don't think this should be its own section. If this has its own long section, so should acadec, popular clubs such as csf , key club, or interact, as well as smoke signals. The source of all bias is in here, it leads me to think that some band-zealot is doing this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.24.215.143 (talk) 23:08, May 20, 2007

I thank Dkwashere for taking off the entertainment unit. I hope the band members can stop blutchering the page. THIS IS ABOUT WEST HIGH, NOT ABOUT THE ENTERTAINMENT UNIT, PERIOD.Paleskies 01:33, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I Agree with Askbros. Entertain unit at west are pretty prideful. I will attempt to include other pics/articles that expand this article more. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dkwashere (talkcontribs) 00:40, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I thank Paleskies for thanking me :D well Im going to actually keep on revising this page for the next....3 years to make sure it isnt buchered any more :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dkwashere (talkcontribs) 02:10, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bulk of website is lifted from school's homepage, rest is propaganda[edit]

I don't see the point of this article at all. After a little clicking around on the school's website, it's obvious that the history section, the seasonal sports activities, the clubs, and the faculty list is lifted directly, or simply reformatted, for the article. I don't believe that a detailed list of current faculty is appropriate material for an encyclopedia article.

All in all, the lifted material is a feeble attempt to provide substance to the propagandistic "history" about their academic evidence. 3-5 years does not history make. It is actually more in the vein of current events.

The first line about "political correctness" and the use of the "warrior" mascot is an obvious political position. It might at least make it more interesting if someone provided a true history about something about the school with context and actors instead of bare details.

I didn't edit the article since my impulse is to delete the whole entire thing. I actually suggest that it be deleted. It has no substance.

I stumbled on the article because I was googling one of the teacher's names (he was a college classmate). I consider myself neutral since I have never had any contact or knowledge of it.
