West AfricansWest African people – eponymous article with Category:West African people Gjs238 (talk) 23:44, 28 September 2021 (UTC)— Relisting. Havelock Jones (talk) 13:59, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

:I agree: Yeah it's the same concept. West Africans and West African people are the same thing, so the info should be moved to West African People — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mohammed12313893 (talkcontribs) Sockpuppet comment struck out (see their userpage) ASUKITE 15:02, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Why move an article to match a category? Move the category instead. Better yet, merge this tiny afterthought of an article with the West Africa article, which already contains most of the info in this article. (NB there are no articles for North Africans or East Africans.) —  AjaxSmack  04:02, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support using the singular and people seems more natural than the plural. Crouch, Swale (talk) 08:43, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support but also revert or merge this article anyway. See old disambig page at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=West_Africans&oldid=936707683 that was only recently turned into this stubby article. This topic is better covered as a section at West_Africa#Demographics_and_languages. SnowFire (talk) 19:44, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge with West Africa per SnowFire. West Africans aren't a homogeneous group, and there are lots of different ethnicities here which are all already individually discussed in their own articles, so it's perfectly sufficient to have such detail in the regional article.  — Amakuru (talk) 09:49, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. There are a lot of things that culturally link people spread across members of the ECOWAS block which can best be represented in one article concerned with the people as its main subject. Agbada, Talking drum, Jollof rice are some notable things. Category:West African people contains a list of countries, ethnic groups, and individual people. This article can, instead, help serve a more defined purpose. -Oluwatalisman (talk) 18:12, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
