Relationship with the Wendt W-1[edit]

The W-1 appeared the year before the W-2 and before the formation of the Wendt co. Aerofiles have a photo of this and it is almost identical to the W-2 image in Jane's, down to the background, shadows etc. The only differences are an absence of an exhaust stub below the cowling (the W-1 had a Warner engine) and no visible reg number on the tail. I wonder if the Jane's "W-2" is the same image as aerofiles "W-1", retouched. Anybody seen independent photos of the types, which also from the specs seem to have been very similar? Or indeed know any more about the earlier aircraft beyond what is in aerofiles?
