peakbagger citation template weirdness[edit]

The peakbagger citation used Template:cite pb, but it looks like that template is designed for specific peaks, not ranges. Peakbagger's ID for the Wenatchee Mountains is 12511, but using that ID in the template takes you to http://www.peakbagger.com/peak.aspx?pid=12511 -- which is "Hill 331, New York". The proper url for the Wenatchee Mtns ought to be http://www.peakbagger.com/range.aspx?rid=12511 -- same ID, but the word "range" instead of "peak". I don't know if the cite pb template can deal with this kind of thing, so I just replaced it with a plain url citation link. Pfly (talk) 19:54, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

bad map[edit]

While I'm at it I'm going to remove the map "Wenatchee Mountains.png" for three main reasons: 1) Map is very unclear, showing only rivers, cities, and counties, but no mountains, ranges. It is unclear where the Wenatchee Mountains are on this map. 2) A good portion of the actual Wenatchee Mountains are well beyond the edges of the map. 3) The source url given at the map's page, http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/MapMultPoint?id=1527905 returns a "404 Not Found". In short--bad map. Pfly (talk) 20:04, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

another problem -- Wenatchee or North Wenatchee Mountains?[edit]

Seeing the highest peak list and the definition of "runs from Blewett Pass to Stevens Pass", and the mention of "the Stuart Range lies generally to the north of the Wenatchee Mountains", sourced to peakbagger.com, I realize what happened. These statements and the highest peaks list are about the North Wenatchee Mountains, a subrange of the Wenatchee Mountains. The Stuart and Teanaway ranges are also subranges of the Wenatchee Mountains. This is according to both peakbagger and the Fred Beckey book also cited on this page. So... I will fix this page to be about the main Wenatchee Mountains rather than the Northern subrange. Pfly (talk) 20:23, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
