One view only?[edit]

The only reference in the article seems to be the Library of Congress Country Studies, and I think it does not cover all material in the article. The article is in much need of checking. The facts are probably OK, but there may be important points of view or facts missing (like the “torpparilaki”,“torparlagen”, passed soon after the civil war, allowing [tenant farmer]]s to buy their land - although it was not social security in the modern sense it is certainly worth mentioning). --LPfi (talk) 16:55, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comparison to Sweden[edit]

Juhana Vartiainen from Government Institute for Economic Research (Finland) have in HS written opinions according to which Finland should take modell from Sweden in order to make savings in the social security costs. In the article could be pointed out differences that Vartiainen did not mention: 1) in Sweden the unemployment support may be 80 % of the previous work with certain conditions (1997:238) om arbetslöshetsförsäkring. Support in Finland is less and unemployment higher. 2) in Sweden the parents with young children have had legal right to 6 hours workdays which may be significant reason for more young mother at work.
