cite news template pointing to wrong thing?[edit]

@Alison: An edit of yours from 2014 looks a little strange to me. It seems like you were trying to add a citation to Ars Technica and another to Forbes, but accidentally put the URL of the former into the {{cite news}} for the latter. Then some well-meaning person removed the (correct) Ars Technica citation and left the Franken-Forbes citation, probably because the former looked redundant. Should I just change the {{cite news}} to have the Ars Technica metadata, or do you think we need/want the Forbes reference as well? --N Y Kevin 03:51, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Black Hat Hacker[edit]

There seems to be some dispute as to whether Weev is a white hat or black hat hacker. Can anyone provide evidence of black hat hacker activity? To be honest it doesn't really improve the article to mention either way. His activities are well documented irrespective of the color of his attire. Besides which, he's primarily known as a white supremacist. His hacking activities have been moved to stage-left since his involvement with the stormer. Replace Title and Redirect[edit]

Per Wikipedia guidelines, the pseudonym "weev" does not meet the standard to be used as the article title. Specifically for Auernheimer, weev is not "the name used most often to refer to a person in reliable sources." In reliable sources, he is always named as Andrew Auernheimer before noting that "weev" is his online pseudonym or handle.

Oppose While some news sources do indicate his birth name, in common usage he is still primarily known as "weev"; indeed nearly all sources that use his birth name almost universally indicate that he is most commonly known as "weev". That's clear indication that the WP:UCN-compliant name for this article is "weev". --Jayron 32 17:55, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose "weev" is what people are looking for. "Shaggy" has to have disambiguation shared among multiple people because nobody searches for Orville Rogers, Norville Burrell, or Joseph Utsler.
